Christmas Tag (by PointlessBlog)

Merry Christmas Everyone!

So, if you didn't know already (which you should)... It's Christmas Tomorrow!!!

And I thought, as it's Christmas Eve, it is the perfect time to post a Christmas Tag! I am so excited for Christmas, and I wanted to share a bit of that with you now :)

This tag was created by PointlessBlog on YouTube, and as it was first made for a video, I am going to change some of the questions to fit a blog post. Click here to watch Alfie's video. I'll leave the original questions down below if you're a keen youtuber, otherwise you can use my questions to write your own Christmas tag!

So, let's go for it!

1. How excited are you for Christmas?
SOOOOOO EXCITED!!!! I can't explain in words how excited I am :)

2. What's the best present you've ever been given and why?
The best present I've got is probably my new iPod touch 5th generation.

3. What's the worst present you've ever been given and why?
Last year, there was a mistake with present coordination, and I got three of the same piano books. I managed to give the other two away, but it was still a bit annoying!

4. What's your favourite Christmas song?
It has to be 'Winter Wonderland' :)

5. What's your favourite Christmas film?
Elf! Even though I only saw it this year, it has gone straight to the top of my Christmas film list.

6. How good are you at wrapping presents?
I'm not sure how good I am, but I absolutely LOVE wrapping presents. Definitely one of my favourite things about Christmas. And I think I'm pretty good...

7.  If you could rename one of Father Christmas' reindeer, what would you name it?
Hmm... I'm not really sure... Maybe Tinsel? I think that's a pretty name :)

8. What's your favourite thing about Christmas?
I love buying and wrapping presents for people, and seeing their reaction!

Original Questions:
1. Use one noise to describe how excited you are for Christmas.
2. What's the best present you've ever been given and why?
3. What's the worst present you've ever given and why?
4. Sing a line from your favourite christmas song.
5. Whats your favourite Christmas film?
6. Show how good you are at wrapping a present.
7. If you could rename one of father christmas' reindeer, what would you name it?
8. Whats your favourite thing about christmas?

So that is my own twist on PointlessBlog's Christmas Tag!
If you liked it, please share, comment, or tweet me! I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas, and I send my festive love. The next time you see me blogging may be the 2014 Blogger Challenge!

I hope this post has increased your festive-ness, and I'll see you all soon! And please feel free to tweet me about what lovely presents you get :)

Amazing Covers - Christmas Edition!

Hello, and Merry Christmas everyone!

So to get you all into the Christmas spirit, I thought I would post a special edition of Amazing Covers

Amazing Covers is a post I do once in a while, which highlights my favourite covers of your favourite songs. Click here and here to see my previous posts, on artists like Bastille and Lorde!

As Christmas day is fast approaching, I thought I would share with you my favourite festive tunes, and the covers to go along with them! This means sharing covers I think you'll love, and you recommending covers you think I'll love.

That's all you need to know, let's get on with some festive covers!

Taylor Swift

Taylor's voice fits perfectly into the song, and it's a great alternative to the classic.

Lily Allen

Also known as the song from the John Lewis advert, the Bear and the Hare. I absolutely love this song; it's so calming and beautiful!

Little Mix

Not an official tune, but a truly beautiful performance on last years X Factor!

The Wanted

Also not an official Christmas song, but also a lovely, calming cover of a classic.

Justin Bieber

Now I'm not a big fan of the Biebs, but this more upbeat tune is quite catchy, and captures the Christmas spirit!

So check out these covers, and I'm sure they'll certainly increase your Christmas spirit!

I hope you enjoyed that post, and there are many more Christmassy posts to come! I have so many ideas, and I want to share them all with you before the #2014BloggerChallenge begins! Click here to find out what I'm talking about.

So I hope you're looking forward to the many lovely posts!
Enjoy your Christmas preparations, and don't forget to follow me on Twitter and Bloglovin'!

Sweet Snaps Challenge!

Hello Bloggers!

So recently I have decided to join a challenge by SaidaCanePhotography called the Sweet Snaps Challenge. She is a very keen photographer, and as I have recently become interested in photography, so I have decided to take part in the challenge.

The idea is to post a photo every know and then, and link it to her post. She looks through the photos, and decides her favourite by the time the next post is up. You don't have to post every week, just when you feel like it! But this idea gives your blog a lot more traffic and pageviews, so I'm trying to post as much as I can!

Please go check it out, I think it's an amazing idea, and more people should get involved. Click here to have a proper introduction.

Anyway she has just posted asking for our photos, so here is mine!

Enjoy :)

Exercises for Your Abs!

Recently I've been working on getting my abs stronger, and have been doing some hard, but effective exercises. I'm a workout freak - I do exercise whenever I can.

Here are a few easy exercises, which give really good results!

1. Bicycle Crunch

Bicycle Crunch

- Lie flat on the floor with your lower back pressed to the ground and tense your core muscles.
- With your hands gently holding the back of your head, lift your knees to about a 90-degree angle.
- Straighten one of your legs, and bring the opposite arm to your bent knee.
- Alternately touching your elbows to the opposite knees as you twist back and forth.

2. Front Plank

The Plank

Front Plank: Make sure you keep your body flat. Repeat this front plank with your arms straight.

3. Back Plank

Back plank: Push your hips up so your body is straight. Repeat with your on elbows.

4. Mountain Climber

- Lie in the plank/press-up position with your body flat and arms straight
- Lift one knee up towards your chest, then return to your original position
- Repeat with your other knee, and start bringing your next knee up as your last knee is coming down
- Do for a specific amount of time, or do a certain number of repeats
- Make sure you keep your body straight throughout the exercise, and keeps your abs tensed

If you keep these exercises up, maybe every day, you will have strong, toned abs in no time!

But remember; do not over do it, and if you feel faint please stop! Repeats work better than length, so doing plank every day for 1 minute is better than doing plan once a month for 5 minutes! Keep hydrated and stretch properly before and after working out.

I hope you liked this new kind of post, and comment/tweet me if you'd like to see more (like leg, arm exercises). I have more abdominal exercises to share with you, so tell me if you want to see them! I really love sport, so if you need advice, please contact me by email or twitter. I'm also always open for new exercises and tips, so if you have any please tell me!

Have a lovely day,

New Blogging Schedule

Hi everyone, how are you all?

Now today's post is more like an update, rather than a proper topic post. I'm sorry if you were expecting something more, but I've been thinking about this for a long time and decided it was time.

At the moment I'm posting every other day, which means I post either 3 or 4 times a week. Now with school, homework and sporting commitments, I'm really struggling with keeping you guys happy and keeping myself happy with blogging! And I don't want to carry on a schedule I can't keep up easily, and I definitely don't want to let you down.

So I'm happy to introduce to you... THE NEW BLOGGING SCHEDULE!!!

I am going to have at least 2 days in the week where I post, and these will vary on if I'm spontaneously inspired, have work to do or just want to post!

Some weeks I may do 3 or more posts (If you're lucky :P), but you can definitely expect 2 posts from me. This way posting is more relaxing for me, and enjoyable for you!

If you have any further advice for me, or just want a chat, tweet me or comment below!

Enjoy your Friday :)

At the moment, life is very good to be honest. My parents are still a bit uneasy, there is still tension and problems between them, but it is no longer affecting me.

My brother has gone to university, which has been hard, as we were very close. He would always make laugh, and still does when we Skype occasionally. It has been hard getting used to it being just my mum and I at home. But I'm started to get used to it, and it also means I go out more to see my friends.

Overall I have learnt a lot from this experience, a sudden dark place in my year. It has taught me about independence, and a lot about a parent's love. I know feel a lot more comfortable talking to my parents if I have a problem.

School is also a lot better. I have told more people about my situation, so I can be more natural around them, and act casual when talking about my parents.

I'm on holidays at the moment, which has included a lot of shopping, seeing friends, going into London and relaxing!

I hope the rest of your holidays are great!

Love you all,

Sian xox

School Story : Part 3 | 28/10/13

One Friday morning, we had just finished assembly, and one of my other friends, as a joke, played a prank on me which resulted in hitting me in the face. In any other situation I would've joked and laughed about it. But then I thought, that just wasn't funny. My friend asked me if I was crying. Tears started coming, and then I just burst into tears in front of my whole class. It was mortifying, but I just couldn't stop it. I ran outside, with my best friend (who knew what was happening), and hugged her. I just wanted to get away from everyone.

Just to let you know, our classroom is near the head of my years office. And just at that moment she happened to come out of her office, and see me in tears. She invited me in without my best friend (reluctantly), and sat me down with a tissue. And I told her everything that was going on. She didn't give her opinion, just occasional comments, and told me the fact that she could relate to me with her parents. Although I'd never talked to her before, it felt so good to let it out, and tell someone. I felt so much better afterwards, much fresher and ready for the day. And another bonus is that I missed my first lesson!

After that happened, I told a few more of my good friends. It felt good to tell more people, gradually making it more like casual news, and so I could be myself around my friends. I still haven't told everyone, but I'm getting there.

So my piece of advice for you today is never keep it to yourself. If you can feel the emotions welling up inside of you, and it is affected you in places besides home, you have to let it out and tell someone close to you. Even a teacher will do! It feels so much better afterwards I assure you. Just remember, you are the priority, and none of your parents business should get in the way.

Please comment/email me if you want to chat. Having experienced this, I have learnt a lot and I want to help others.

Sorry for another really long blog post, after I get my story out completely then I will write shorter, snappier posts.

What do you want to be in the future?

I know everyone gets asked this question once in their life, and the answer goes one of two ways.

1) 'I'm not sure, I haven't thought about it yet' (cue the mini panic attack when you realise everyone else knows, so why shouldn't you know, oh god you're going to end up alone looking after a lot of animals)

2) 'I want to be a ...(cue long-winded answer explaining what you want to be, why, what grades you'll get, what university you'll go to, when you'll get married, how many kids you'll have, how ma- you get the idea)'

And if you're like me, the first option will ring A LOT of bells. It's like Christmas came early.

I have had many moments in my life when I've suddenly felt a need to decide what I want to do in the future; especially as my school has been encouraging us to explore job possibilities recently.

I was nearly crushed under the job possibilities offered.

Before I continue, let me say that I'm the kind of person who is VERY indecisive. I mean I will take a HUGE suitcase just for a sleepover, just in case something happens which means I need to wear a jumper I didn't know existed or a charger for a device I don't even own anymore.

So when presented with a list of many job possibilities, I start considering the wildest of jobs, just because it is vaguely interesting and may or may not require a skill I happen to have.

But before I was crushed by the mountain of jobs on my shoulders, my school did one thing right. Well actually two things. The first is a website called Fast Tomato. In a nutshell, this website gives you a questionnaire, and then recommends a variety of job options that could be suited to your style/skills. I found this extremely useful, and easy to do; and I felt that my options had been narrowed down a little. It was fun, and very accurate to my personality. It may not be perfect for some, but it really helped me :)

But something that helped even more, was a careers convention that was offered to us, to talk to the people who had experienced their careers. This was so useful to give me a detailed insight into what I needed to know, answer all my questions and last of all, give me some well needed advice...

You don't need to know what you want to be anytime soon. People have left university, not knowing what they want to do. It is better to keep doors open, because then you have more options, more opportunities and less disappointment. And overall, that will lead to a better future. Take chances, work hard and never give up. Because then you will find your true career <3

I don't know why I felt the need to discuss this, it's just a random thought flying through my brain while I'm in bed 'sleeping'. And like every blogger, I felt the need to share it.

If you liked this more chatty, in-the-moment kind of post, please comment telling me, and follow me on GFC, bloglovin' and twitter

Make today a lovely day!
