My Daily Skincare Routine! | 2014 Blogger Challenge

Hello Everyone!

So it's the moment you've all been waiting for ... The second post of the 2014 Blogger Challenge! Today I will be taking you through my daily skincare routine, not including special occasions like face masks, hair washes etc. I'm very excited, as I don't do beauty/skincare routines very often (well not at all!)... so this is kind of out of my comfort zone. But oh well, I hope you like it!

My OLAY essentials refreshing face wash and Soap and Glory Peaches and Clean purifying cleanser start my daily routine. They are effective in deeply cleansing my face and refreshing me after a long day! The OLAY face wash has a nice consistency, and it always makes me feel fresh. It also has a nice, subtle fruity scent! After I've rubbed that in, and then washed in off, it is time for my Peaches and Clean cleanser. This acts as a face wash and a moisturiser, as cleanses my face and leaves it feeling silky smooth.

After my face, it's time for my body. This Dove Deeply Nourishing Body Wash really benefits my dry skin, and is useful for a general body wash. As well as washing all the day off me, it leaves my skin feeling smooth. Occasionally, not too much, I use The Scrub of Your Life from Soap and Glory. I only use this once every week, mostly for my rough knees and elbows. I don't recommend using this for your face, as it is quite a rough exfoliator and may damage your sensitive facial skin.

Next is my moisturisers! My OLAY essentials conditioning milk puts lots of moisture into my skin, and helps my face feel as smooth as possible! I only use this product on my face, and rub it in to settle overnight. It has a quite liquidy consistency, but that relates to how much moisture it is putting into your skin! Then, for my body, I have my Moisture Lotion from Soap and Glory. I find the pump really useful, as it makes it easier and quicker to put on. Also it dries really fast, so it's perfect for avoiding those sticky legs in bed! The scent is quite strong, and may depend on preference. But I love it, and really think it has done miracles for my dry skin! And the pump has encouraged me to moisturise a lot more!

Lastly, as a quick edition, I have this Quinoderm spot cream to treat acne. So if ever I have spots, or can feel some breaking out, I put this on before my OLAY conditioning milk, to help my spots go down more before the morning!

And that is all! I hope you enjoyed my first ever Skincare post, and you may see more in the future! As you can see, I use a lot of Soap and Glory products, and click here to find out where I got them, and see my whole collection!

My New Years Jar!

Hi Everybody!

Today I'm doing a kind of New Years post, and I know it's a bit late, but I think this idea is too cute and exciting to leave till next year!

A few days ago, I saw something on twitter that I had to share with you all. It sounded too amazing for me to resist, so listen up!

You Will Need:

One Jar!

Some pieces of paper

A pen

And any decorations for your jar you might want!

Firstly, if you're into DIY and getting creative, you can decorate your jar how you would like. This jar is going to contain some special moments, so let's make it as beautiful as we can! I haven't had time to decorate my jar yet, but I'm planning to experiment with some of THESE designs!

The next step is not so quick...

Throughout the year, whenever something makes you happy or cheerful, write it down, fold it up and put it in the jar! Remember: No peeking! Simply put those random, happy moments in the jar, and keep them locked up.

Now the joy, and proper result of this idea comes in December (I know it's a bit early to be talking about December again!). On New Year's Eve, you open your jar, and let all the lovely things you've done or have had done to you flow out!  This is sure to make your day lovely and happy, and I can't wait for this moment!

Now if you are as impatient as I am, you can always open your jar if you're having a particularly unhappy day, and need a little cheering up!

But if you stay through to the end I respect you, and encourage you to do so!

I'm definitely going to keep you updated on my progress, and please keep me informed if you're going to take this challenge on!

It will be a rewarding experience, and a great way to remember those little things that mean a lot :)

So I hope you enjoyed this post, and find this idea exciting!
Remember to keep me posted, and have an amazing week <3

Recipe for Millie's Cookies!

Hello Everyone!

So, schools starting, mornings are getting earlier and stress is increasing. But today I'm going to tell you how to relieve that stress, by making the cookie that everyone loves, right in your own home! Yes you guessed it, I'm going to teach you how to make the Chocolate Chip (or any other chip) Millie's Cookie!

125g butter, softened
100g light brown soft sugar
125g caster sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
225g self-raising flour
½ tsp salt
1 small bar dairy milk and 1 flake

Firstly preheat the oven to 180°C, gas mark 4.

Put the brown and caster sugar in a bowl and cream together with the butter (I melted half of it to speed up the process)

Combine with the egg and the vanilla extract

Add the flour and salt and mix it all together so it becomes doughy

Add your chocolate chips (or any addition you like) and mix so it is evenly spread in the mixture
Finally roll the dough into a big sausage shape and cut it into 20 pieces and place on 2 trays lined with baking paper.  Make sure to space them out, as they do spread a lot in the oven!

Leave in the oven for 7mins; although they may not look cooked, they should be so take them out to cool. The outside should stiffen and crisp as they cool. Or you can cook them for a bit longer if you prefer!

Make sure to keep the whole cookie supported while it's cooling, or you'll end up having the insides drooping onto the table!

And then before you eat your lovely cookies, tweet me a picture of them @thelifeofsianm !

I hope you liked this recipe post, I'm starting to do more baking! Make sure you check out my other recipe post, on how to make Pear and Granola Muffins :) Happy New Year, and hope you all have the best year!

New Years Inspiration | 2014 Bloggers Challenge

Hello, and Happy New Year everyone!

So today is a very exciting day for Bloggers all around the world… It is the First Topic post of the 2014 Bloggers Challenge! Gaby, over at AnotherGirlyBlg, set up this AMAZING Challenge, which has over 410 participants. It's a great way to connect with other bloggers, and share your posts worldwide! So even if you aren't a part of this challenge, do go check her out!

So the first topic of this challenge is New Years Inspiration.

For this post I have chosen a few quotes, and one very inspirational person to me. I hope this post gives you that little bit of motivation to help you through 2014 with a smile!

One of my New Years resolutions is to get fit, and properly back into sport this year. If you didn't know already, last year I was out from sport because of long-lasting leg injuries. So now I feel better, and ready, I want to get into the fitness routine.

'Set yourself goals, then demolish them'

I think this quote applies to my situation, but it is also relevant in every day life. I believe, to succeed, you must set your own goals. Only you know what you are capable of and want to achieve; and if you are determined, nothing can stop you. People can help you with your journey to your desired place, but fundamentally only your attitude can take you there. I think the only way to progress in life is to set goals, and then demolish them with determination! So this year I am going to demolish by goal of getting fit, and prove to myself that I can do it!

'You don't predict the future, you invent it'

Lots of people say that they can predict the future, and all their dreams will come true. But I think this quote promotes the right attitude. You decide what you want to do in your life. You make your own decisions. And if you want your future to be great, you can make it happen. If you get determined and motivated, nothing can change the future being yours. Be  sure that you want something, and you can get it.

I know it sounds cheesy, but it's true!

I was determined to get my blog seen, and at first I wasn't sure how. But through some help from my friends, support from my family, support from you guys and my own passion, I feel like my blog has come a long way. And it still has more to go!

Lastly, the person who inspires me the most is Louise, from SprinkleofGlitter.

If you don't know who she is (which you REALLY should), she is a Beauty and Lifestyle blogger and you tuber. In her video, 'Draw My Life', she explained to her viewers what a hard childhood she had. In no way was Louise creating pity for herself, she was merely being honest. Recently she posted another video, talking about some lows in her life, and some things she has missed out on.

But to see that through all this trouble and hardships, such a lovely person has emerged, is amazing. Louise is so down to earth, kind and a great mother. She makes videos regularly, and always makes me smile with her cheery attitude. She has showed me that you can make anything happen. And to see her settled in her life, and so honest with us viewers, is wonderful.

Louise inspires me so much, and some day I hope to meet her, and tell her!

Her determination and positive attitude alone will help me get through 2014!

I hope you enjoyed my first 2014 Blogger Challenge post, and please leave your link if you are taking part too!

See you soon :)
